About This Game
Grounded 2 is an open-world survival game that shrinks you to insect size and drops you in a backyard packed with giant plants, dangerous creatures, and hidden mysteries. It’s the sequel to Grounded, and it adds new environments, more crafting, tougher exploration, and co-op. Ordinary objects turn into huge landmarks, and even a small bug can kill you.
Gameplay mixes resource gathering, base building, crafting, exploration, and combat. You collect materials from plants, insects, and random junk to make tools, weapons, armor, and shelters. Every expedition needs prep because hostile creatures attack without warning, and going too far in poor gear can end a run. A solid base gives you somewhere to store resources, craft better kit, and get ready for harsher areas. Stronger equipment and new recipes keep opening up options.
Exploration and survival blend well. The backyard pushes you to check out unfamiliar spots, hunt for materials, find secrets, and learn how each creature behaves. Combat rewards blocking, dodging, the right weapon, and knowing enemy attack patterns, and that matters most in tough fights. Your gear, experience, and playstyle all change how you tackle a challenge.
Co-op adds another layer. Friends gather resources, build shared bases, explore dangerous areas, and fight bigger enemies together. Splitting the jobs makes survival management easier, and coordinated fights handle threats that would crush a lone player. Solo players still get the exploration and progression, but they need to plan supplies and tougher fights more carefully.
The miniature world looks great. Grass towers overhead, everyday objects become landmarks, and insect behavior makes ordinary spots dangerous. Familiar backyard scenery from a tiny viewpoint gives you both discovery and tense moments. Sound helps too, since you hear nearby threats before they reach you.
Grounded 2 shrinks you to ant size and drops you in a backyard that wants you dead. A blade of grass is a tree. A lawn toy is a landmark. A spider is a boss fight.
What you actually do
You gather, craft, build, and fight. Strip plants, harvest insects, and turn the scraps into tools, weapons, armor, and shelter.
Every trip out needs prep. Wander too far in weak gear and one ambush can end the run. A base fixes that: it’s where you stash loot, craft better kit, and get ready for the next scary zone.
New recipes and stronger gear keep opening doors as you go.
Exploration is the hook
I think poking around is the best part. You check an unfamiliar corner, find something useful, learn how a creature moves, and come back smarter.
Combat rewards timing. Block, dodge, pick the right weapon, and learn each enemy’s patterns, because mashing attack gets you flattened by anything bigger than a ladybug. Playstyle matters too, so two players can solve the same fight in totally different ways.
Co-op
Friends split the work. One gathers, one builds, one tanks the big bug. You share a base and take down enemies that would shred a lone player.
Solo works fine. You’ll just prep harder and lose more fights to the tougher stuff.
About the v0.6.0.3 + Online build
That label points to one specific build. I can’t tell you exactly what changed in it, so read the patch notes for that version. Balance, features, and multiplayer compatibility shift between releases.
Grounded 2 is still in Early Access, so everyone in a co-op session should run the same version. Mixed versions will probably cause connection headaches.
My take
The big win is how a boring backyard becomes a hostile survival map. Grab basic materials, craft better gear, then push into nastier areas. The progress feels earned.
With friends it’s even better. Base building and bug fights turn into shared projects.

How to Setup and Run the Game
1) Download Steam-Fix

5) In-game -> Joining : Multiplayer -> Join Online Game -> Connect to a friend’s server.
Hosting : Multiplayer -> Host Online Game -> New Game -> Waiting for other players to connect
